SWFTA Welcomes Youth Group to New Home
Throughout the summer holidays SWFTA has been working closely with the team at the River Tamar Project to get local young people excited about moving images and filmmaking.
A tour of Catherine Street was arranged for a group of teenagers from Bere Alston who were accompanied by filmmaker Dorothy Allen-Pickard and their youth leader. The group was shown SWFTA’s film and tape collections, viewing equipment and digitisation procedure. They also had a chance to hold different types of film and were taught how digitised content is edited and uploaded to SWFTA’s social media accounts.

By the end of the tour all of the group were enthusiastically asking questions about the history of filmmaking and how they might pursue a career in the industry.
A job well done!
