Archive Director's End of Year Review - 2013
As thoughts turn to Christmas I’ve taken some time to look back over a hugely eventful year for SWFTA - which also marks my first full year at the archive.
Sure, there have been a fair few challenges to overcome – or rather ‘opportunities’ to develop – but what has been constant throughout has been a growing sense of enthusiasm and confidence amongst trustees, staff, support personnel and volunteers. I’m enormously proud to be part of such an amazing community of people and look forward to the year ahead – and the many more ‘opportunities’ that will undoubtedly come our way!
Here is just a short review of some of the milestones that have been reached this year -
We’ve welcomed two project staff members, 15 additional volunteers, 5 additional trustees and one patron!
Our fabulous Archive Admin. team have processed 458 research requests.
We’ve led on and supported 12 major projects.
We've launched a brand new website, facebook, twitter and Youtube channels.
We’ve submitted 4 successful funding bids – with 1 pending.
Our amazing volunteers have contributed over 4,000.00 hours to supporting the archive which is the equivalent of 2 FT posts!
Phew - Time methinks for a well deserved break! We'll see you when we reopen on the 2nd January next year. We'll still be taking Broadcaster enquiries throughout Christmas - see our dates of Christmas Closure news article for further details.
From everyone at SWFTA, we wish you all a very Happy Christmas - Cheers!
